    • JC-Biomethane, the state’s first commercial food waste biogas generating plant, began operating near Junction City. Read more.
    • Sweet Home resident Gene Chavez was among the Oregonians who recycled 800 old refrigerators and donated $30,000 in incentives to Oregon Food Bank. Read more.
    • The Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University in Salem replaced halogen lamps with LED lamps. The upgrade will help the museum reduce lighting costs by 75 percent.
    • The downtown fire station in Corvallis began producing 20 percent of its own power from 150 solar panels. Energy Trust and Pacific Power helped fund the system, which will generate enough energy to save about $3,100 on electricity costs each year.
    • Wind projects came online in Independence, Newberg and Scotts Mills.
    • Energy Trust teamed up with the Northwest Ductless Heat Pump Project to support the Energize Corvallis energy-efficiency program for homes and businesses.
